The challenge
Northwind’s clinicians were spending close to two hours a day on documentation after their last patient left. Off-the-shelf dictation tools produced transcripts, not notes, and none of them understood the clinic’s templates or billing codes.
What we built
We designed and built Northwind Scribe, a multi-tenant SaaS that listens to a visit (with consent), separates the speakers and drafts a structured note in the clinic’s own template. A retrieval layer grounds each draft in the patient’s history, and every generated sentence links back to the moment in the conversation it came from, so a clinician can verify it in one click.
- Speaker-separated transcription with PHI redaction before anything is stored
- Template-aware note generation with per-clinic prompt tuning
- Billing-code suggestions with confidence scores, never auto-submitted
- SOC 2-ready audit trail, per-tenant encryption keys and role-based access
The results
Clinicians now review and sign a draft instead of writing one. Charting time dropped by 62% in the first month, and the product reached its first paying clinic eight weeks after kick-off.
